In 1994 Capable Partners empowered a democratically elected board and officers to direct the organization. By-laws designated that Physically Challenged members must represent the majority of the board members as well as a majority of the officers. Elections are held each year with the results announced at the annual banquet.

Capable Partners Board Meetings are held at 6:30 P.M. the second Thursday of the month, we generally meet every other month so call for exact dates. Meetings are at Courage Center located in Golden Valley, Minnesota. Members and those interested in membership are welcome!

Mike Hanson -President

I happen to be blind.  I am an avid hunter, fisherman, general outdoorsman, home brewer, and lawyer.  I have fished and hunted for thirty years and been a member of Capable Partners for about sixteen years.  I learned a lot from Capable Partners and hope I can give something back to this fine organization as its president. 

Nate Sojolin - Vice President
 

Member of Capable Partners for 5 years. Nathan has served as Security, Coordinated goose hunts, and has worked on community outreach. Nathan has been on the last two Banquet Committees, and is looking for more waterfowl hunting opportunities.

Janie Yoder - Secretary 

Member of Capable Partners for the last three years. Board member for the last year. I am an AB and have worked with disabled for the 25 years. I enjoy working with others and doing outdoor hunting and fishing events.
 

Violet Foster - Treasurer

Member of Capable Partners for the last four years. Enjoys the hunting and fishing events. Board member for 2 years. Also enjoy cooking for the outings.

Terry Hanson - Board Member                                                    

Member of Capable Partners for 16 years and an avid fisherman forever.  Terry has been a board member for 6 years.  Terry is also coordinating the Prior Lake fishing trip this year and wants to expand fishing opportunities.
 

Dave Heidtke - Board Member                                                   

Member of Capable Partners for 16 years and has been a board member for 7 years.  Dave has always been involved in outdoor activities and is an avid fisherman.  Dave also coordinates Lake Mille Lacs and Lake Minnetonka fishing outings every summer.

Alan Buss - Board Member

Member of Capable Partners for 5 years and has been a board member for 2 years. Likes to Deer hunt and fish.

Jim Hamlin - Board Member

Member of Capable Partners for 2 years and has been a board member for 1 year. Likes to Deer hunt and fish. Also is an avid bowler.

Greg Waite - Board Member

Member of Capable Partners for 5 years. Married to Rita for 38 years. Have 2 children, Shannon 36 years young and Travis 34 years young.2 Grandchildren, Jackson Gregory 6 years young and Mason Robert 3 years young.  Reason for joining CP was meeting Allen Buss and becoming his capable partner. Allen and I have become very close friends because of CP. Got involved in the Board Of Directors to make some changes and to do some fund raising and thought that being on the board would help getting donations easier, letting the people I was asking to contribute see why I was involved and why I was so passionate about our organization.
I also Co-Coordinate Becklin WMA in Cambridge with Allen Buss. I have found an organization that I truly love to do things for and I feel good doing it.
Recipient of the 2007 Adult Hunter of the Year Award from the MN DNR, MN Deer Hunters Association and Turn in Poachers for the work I do for Capable Partners.
