DISABLED
Our organization defines disabled as "a physical
impairment that substantially limits sporting
activities."
MANDATORY
Capable Partners has several meetings designated as
"mandatory" throughout the year. These meetings are
specifically related to the use of firearms. If you do
not attend a meeting designated as "mandatory" you WILL
NOT be allowed to hunt with Capable Partners for the
associated outing. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS.

WHEN DOES
THE BOARD MEET?
Capable Partners board meetings are held at 7:00 p.m.
the second Thursday of the month at Courage Center
located in Golden Valley, MN. Both members and those
interested in membership are welcome to attend.

BECOME A CAPABLE PARTNERS MEMBER?

INTERESTED IN MAKING A DONATION, CAN I TARGET MY
CONTRIBUTION TO A SPECIFIC SPORT OR EVENT?
Yes. You can use the membership
form to send in a donation. Complete "Section B:
Interests" to identify the area you wish your
contribution targeted. Complete "Section D: Membership
Fees & Contributions" identifying the amount of your
contribution and any other special instructions you
would like followed. Print out the form and send with

WHY DO I
HAVE TO SIT DOWN IN THE BLIND WHEN I SHOOT AT A GOOSE
HUNT?
Many of Capable Partners members are in wheel chairs
which requires that they sit when they shoot. As a
safety measure Capable Partners requires all individuals
in a goose blind to remain seated during the discharge
of firearms.

ARE FIREARM
SAFETY CERTIFICATES REQUIRED?
The state of Minnesota requires anyone born on or after
January 1, 1980 have a Firearms Safety Certificate (or
equivalent), a previous hunting license, or other
evidence of successfully completing a hunter safety
course to obtain a license to hunt or trap in Minnesota.
Individuals
between the ages of 12 and 18 must hold a Firearms
Safety Certificate and individuals under the age of 14
must be accompanied by an adult.
In addition
to the above state requirements, Capable Partners
requires that participants attending outings where there
will be a discharge of firearms attend a mandatory
meetings associated to the outing.
As of
January 1999 Capable Partners will also require Advanced
firearm Safety Certification for events where there is a
discharge of firearms.
DO I NEED A
HUNTING LICENSE TO HUNT WITH CAPABLE PARTNERS?
Yes. In accordance with the State of Minnesota, Capable
Partners requires each individual have in their personal
possession while hunting on a Capable Partners Outing,
all Minnesota required licenses and stamps.
DO I NEED A
LICENSE TO SHOOT FROM MY WHEELCHAIR?
Minnesota offers to persons of disability a permit to
shoot from a stationery vehicle when shooting from an
ATV.
HOW DO I
REPORT A FISH OR GAME VIOLATION?
If you witness a violation or find an illegally taken
animal, contact a DNR Conservation Officer, Sheriff's
office, the State Patrol, or Turn In Poachers (TIP). The
TIP statewide, 24-hour toll-free hotline is
(800)652-9093. Callers may remain anonymous.
